Hello!

I’m Sue Dixon, founder of DesignJoy Custom Drapery, Blinds & More and DesignJoy Interiors.

I believe that design should be not only beautiful, but also functional and comfortable. Well-designed spaces help us

feel at ease; they bring out our best selves in work and play. We feel good in them. And since light affects our mood and productivity, where better to start than with our windows!

I have been passionate about creating beautiful surroundings all my life. Fascinated with how colour, line and texture intersect to create beauty in surprising ways, I devoured every design resource I could. The obsession continued as I created my own home décor, learning how to combine beauty with functionality, convenience and comfort.

After my friends and family repeatedly asked me to help them with their homes, I did a mid-life pivot from the business world into this field that has always fascinated me. And after completing studies with the Interior Design Institute of Canada, I founded DesignJoy Interiors.

Shortly after that I completed an intensive course on window coverings to earn the designation of Certified Window Treatment Specialist™. And on partnering with excellent installers/motorization experts and the experienced seamstresses in our workroom, I created DesignJoy Custom Drapery, Blinds & More.
